Acht - [Action/Voice]

[One minute, Kurt was in the middle of hanging out in his room in the evening, literally upside down, reading through a book. The next, he suddenly found himself wondering why he was wasting time with books. Landing on the ground, he tosses the book aside and regards himself in a nearby mirror. He's in the same ragged clothing he's used to. He pulls the hood over his face, obscuring his features, and teleports out of the room.

After the sun goes down, a hooded figure will be prowling through the streets. His walk is a little odd, as he walks only on his toes. His tail lashes about freely behind him, often latching around objects to forcefully pull them down. He doesn't care much for regular humans, so any he comes across are likely to get a scowl. Although his face cannot be seen under the hood, his eyes will light up whenever he spots someone. He's also out to do some thievery, particularly whatever can be looted from outside a window without needing to go in. Or maybe he'll just drop by the bar and see if he can't get himself something to drink. It's not like the bartenders will withhold alcohol from something that doesn't even look human, right?

After getting bored, he decides to leave a message on the journals. Notably, his voice lacks the usual soft spoken German accent, but is now a harder, northern American accent.]

I'm getting sick of this hole. What's there to do around here for some real fun?

((ooc: AU information here. Yes, he'll be answering to a different name. He remembers Luceti and the people he's met here, although naturally these memories are a bit twisted. Also, if you want to let him steal anything, let me know. He'll be sure to give it back once he's his old self. Also, no special alt journal! [April is hurrying back to the library because she accidentally forgot her journal there. She slows down, though, when she sees the figure stalking toward her. All her New York City girl instincts immediately kick in as she looks around for anyplace more secure-feeling than the otherwise empty road--of course trying to look as casual as possible while doing so.]

[His eyes flash as he spots her. She might try to make it casual, but he's all too accustomed to that behavior. Looks like he might have a chance to liven things up, have a little fun. Grinning, he changes his direction towards her.]

Isn't it a little late to be out here by yourself?

[Glowing...glowing eyes? THANK YOU INSTINCTS. THANK YOU. April very quickly walks on, forcing herself not to break into a run. Not yet.] Oh, ah....no, I like being out at night.

[April halts immediately at that statement and whirls around to face him.] Look--what do you want? Because I never said anything about "freaks."

[Something was off. He could sense it in the air as easily as he could feel the flow of the town. Something dark was out and about...too bad they had never seen him. Peering about, Terry flipped up his hood, the red bat ears stretching up the back of his head. He might not have that fancy batsuit that was in his closet on, but had come prepared with the utility belt, few of those collapsing batarangs holstered underneath his coat, and the fold-out staff tucked into his pocket, clutched tightly in hand. Grayson had been a good teacher...hopefully it would pay off tonight. Pulling the red bandana around his neck up over his face, Terry sprang up the side of a building and onto the rooftop, watching down below. Time to go to work.]

[For the moment, he's crawling alongside one of the community building, hopping from one window to another with an impressive display of skill. He's currently in the process of prying the windows open so he can peer inside, see if there's any valuable worth looting.]

[Spotting the shifting in the shadows on the walls, he squinted his eyes, the contrast becoming clear. A burglar in Luceti...son of a bitch. With the stealth of the fellow members of the Bat family, he made his way across to the the other community building, moving up to just above the thief.] Liddle early in da' Christmas season ta' be window shoppin', don't ya' tink?

[He turns in the direction of that voice, glancing up the length of the roof. Immediately he vanishes, appearing behind Batman in an immediate attempt to pin him down.]

[So predictable. He contorted around like a snake, managing to slide out and away from the crook. Terry fell fluidly into a street fighter's stance, but his feet and body never seemed to quit moving. Always be ready to move, be like frakkin' water.] Teleporter, huh? Least everyone can smell ya' comin' wit' dat cloud of yours.

[Well well well, isn't she a pretty looking thing. He doesn't exactly make himself obvious, choosing to speak from a nice obscure perch he's found inside a tree.]

[He hops down from the branches, his features remaining obscured by the hood, although his eyes begin to glow. His tail whips back and forth behind him as he advances.]

[She was just heading back to her apartment that evening because it was getting late and she'd better avoid her lady-friends anyway when she started to get that feeling that someone else was in the area. Not that it was strange, but it wouldn't hurt to keep her eye out anyway--especially considering the time of day.

...Maybe it's her imagination. >_>]

[Oh no, definitely not her imagination. Kurt has spotted Noel and is following her from the shadows, his dark indigo fur making it all too easy to blend in. However, he knows her and it's not his intention to creep her out.]

[--OKAY MAYBE NOT. But it's just Kurt, sans... well, sans the fact that she's having trouble seeing him, but she'll now be fully stopping to take a look around.]

Kurt? I was just heading back, but... [derp] where are you?

[She might notice he doesn't exactly sound like himself, his accent and tone being quite a bit different now. However as he steps closer to her, his silhouette becomes more obvious.]

Kurt? Who's Kurt? [There almost seems to be a jealous twinge as he says that.]

[That's right. She didn't think much of it the first time he spoke, but when she heard him again... what happened to that accent of his? And most of all--]

Huh? [That's definitely Kurt, now that she can see him a little better, but something isn't right about this at all. Especially the way he went and said that.] That's your name, isn't it?

[That evening, Kitty's on her way back from some quiet "me" time at the library. Everything in their little family of mutants seems to be toning down. At least Kurt isn't four inches tall and giving her heart attacks anymore. And so far, she's come out of this unscathed. She can't really say much for the rest of the town, since it's really starting to feel like she lives in one big TV sitcom meets circus sideshow act, but she's trying her best to count her blessings.

She's alone, walking down the path toward home by the glow of the streetlights when she sees a familiar figure out the corner of her eye. It's his walk, more than anything, that catches her attention. But it's odd. This person is shaped like Kurt and walks like Kurt, but carries himself in a completely unnerving way.

When she sees him duck into the bar, she can't resist her curiosity. That couldn't be Kurt, right? She just has to check.

So she jogs off after him and enters the bar, standing hesitantly in the doorway. She's sixteen. She shouldn't be in a bar. And he's seventeen, so he definitely shouldn't be either. So she'll just scan the room, make sure she was just hallucinating, then hurry home before it got much colder.

Okay, mysterious figure, show yourself.]

[Graydon found the bar more or less empty, so he jumps up on the bar counter and begins going through the merchandise, paying no mind to the mess he's making. He finally settles on a beer bottle, using the pointed end of his tail to pop off the lid. With his back still turned to her, it's bottoms up as he takes a nice long swig.]

[Okay, that's Kurt. What is he - ?

She presses her lips together angrily as he starts making such a mess. And the drinking bothers her. It's not like she hasn't been around underage drinking before, going to parties and stuff, but seeing Kurt drink strikes a chord in her for some reason.

She puts her library books on a nearby table and storms up behind him, fully intending on smacking him on the back.]

Kurt! What are you doing!?

[Ow, now that smarts. Angrily he whirls on her, his eyes flashing as he focuses on her. Ugh, one of the Xavier kids. That annoying girl Lance is obsessed with.

... and that's the same name Noel called him. What the hell?]

What the hell does it look like I'm doing? [... that's definitely not his normal voice.]

[Oh, please, she didn't hit that hard. And...that reaction was totally unexpected. She unknowingly takes a half step away, surprise in her expression. Maybe even a little stunned.]

You're acting mega creepy. And like, since when do you drink?
