Acht - [Action/Voice]

[One minute, Kurt was in the middle of hanging out in his room in the evening, literally upside down, reading through a book. The next, he suddenly found himself wondering why he was wasting time with books. Landing on the ground, he tosses the book aside and regards himself in a nearby mirror. He's in the same ragged clothing he's used to. He pulls the hood over his face, obscuring his features, and teleports out of the room.

After the sun goes down, a hooded figure will be prowling through the streets. His walk is a little odd, as he walks only on his toes. His tail lashes about freely behind him, often latching around objects to forcefully pull them down. He doesn't care much for regular humans, so any he comes across are likely to get a scowl. Although his face cannot be seen under the hood, his eyes will light up whenever he spots someone. He's also out to do some thievery, particularly whatever can be looted from outside a window without needing to go in. Or maybe he'll just drop by the bar and see if he can't get himself something to drink. It's not like the bartenders will withhold alcohol from something that doesn't even look human, right?

After getting bored, he decides to leave a message on the journals. Notably, his voice lacks the usual soft spoken German accent, but is now a harder, northern American accent.]

I'm getting sick of this hole. What's there to do around here for some real fun?

((ooc: AU information here. Yes, he'll be answering to a different name. He remembers Luceti and the people he's met here, although naturally these memories are a bit twisted. Also, if you want to let him steal anything, let me know. He'll be sure to give it back once he's his old self. Also, no special alt journal! Use your ~imagination~ to see him as looking a lot grungier than usual. He isn't in uniform.))

[Something was off. He could sense it in the air as easily as he could feel the flow of the town. Something dark was out and about...too bad they had never seen him. Peering about, Terry flipped up his hood, the red bat ears stretching up the back of his head. He might not have that fancy batsuit that was in his closet on, but had come prepared with the utility belt, few of those collapsing batarangs holstered underneath his coat, and the fold-out staff tucked into his pocket, clutched tightly in hand. Grayson had been a good teacher...hopefully it would pay off tonight. Pulling the red bandana around his neck up over his face, Terry sprang up the side of a building and onto the rooftop, watching down below. Time to go to work.]

[Spotting the shifting in the shadows on the walls, he squinted his eyes, the contrast becoming clear. A burglar in Luceti...son of a bitch. With the stealth of the fellow members of the Bat family, he made his way across to the the other community building, moving up to just above the thief.] Liddle early in da' Christmas season ta' be window shoppin', don't ya' tink?

[So predictable. He contorted around like a snake, managing to slide out and away from the crook. Terry fell fluidly into a street fighter's stance, but his feet and body never seemed to quit moving. Always be ready to move, be like frakkin' water.] Teleporter, huh? Least everyone can smell ya' comin' wit' dat cloud of yours.

[Frak! He fell backward at the violent tug at his leg, falling back into Runner instincts as he did. His right hand slapped against rooftop to break the fall and he let the momentum of the tug pull his foot into a kick towards his attacker.] Never expected one!

[Batman flipped backward, springing back to his feet in a crouch. With one hand behind his back, he withdrew a batarang, feeling the wings snap out with a soft -shink-.] Shoulda stayed in whateva' circus you escaped from, dreg!

[He let the batarang fly, already pulling a Bat vanish into the shadows.]

[Damn. Damn damn damn damn DAMN! Where the hell is he?! Terry searched about the roof, looking every way for the teleporter. Okay, think, Terry, think. Metahuman powers always have limits, this guy is no exception. What would Bruce see? Leaves an obvious smoke trace, makes that stupid sound, has to have a limitation on distance and destination. DAMMIT, shoulda brought the suit!

Wait...he's looking for an easy target. He tried breaking into the house but didn't 'port into it. He's got to know where he's trying to teleport to. So...he's got to be somewhere in the area. Terry retrieved the fallen batarang, collapsing it down before tucking it back into its sheath. Time to get back on patrol. Knowing this guy, he'll be trying to land a score soon enough. With that, Batman leaped onto the fire escape and hopped over to the far edge, looking over before jumping a window sill on the next building over.]

[He dodged to the side out of instinct, the pipe striking his left shoulder.] FRAK! [He fell forward, barely grabbing hold of the fire escape. Straining from the deep, numbing sensation running through his arm, he pulled himself up. 'Work through the pain!' the old man's voice shouted in his head. God, what could he do against a 'porter? It had to tire the guy out somewhat to keep doing that, but there was only so much that Batman could take. Gotta trip him up, ruin his concentration. Reaching into a utility belt pouch, he withdrew a small grenade. Don't have many of them in the suit, gotta make it count. He groaned loudly, clutching his wounded arm and curling inward.]

[His accent fell away, his voice growing cold and serious as the grave as he depressed and held down the switch on the grenade.] You have no idea what demons really are. Come and get me...HUMAN.

Sounds like your just mad because you didn't get a date to prom! [He pulled himself up, the pain in his arm present but shoved aside in his mind. Work through it...] You think your better than the rest? HAH! That's a laugh! But don't worry, guy, you're only human!

[Gotcha. He releases the trigger on the grenade, squeezing his eyes shut as tight as he could as he slammed it against the "Nightcrawler." A blinding flash explodes outward, suddenly lighting the side of the building up like high noon in the summer. This guy has to see to be able to 'port correctly, Terry figured, blinding him even if temporarily would have to trip him up at least some. If not...waste of a perfectly good flashbomb.]

[Terry opened his eyes and quickly fell into the hunter instincts. The wannabe burglar had poofed away, but now he would be stuck trying to blink away world's second largest white spot. His night vision would be fried for now and he'd have to go to ground to recover. Quickly, Batman scaled up the remainder for the fire escape to the rooftop to perform a quick cursory survey. He might not have caught the guy, but he could live with at least putting him out of commission for the night.]

[After doing a thorough scan over of the area from the rooftop, Terry let out a sigh and leaned against the rooftop exit, wincing at the jolt of pain but chuckling roughly under his breath.] Gotcha, ya' frakker.
[His shoulder would be throbbing and more than swollen with a black bruise come morning, but he got the job done. One thing that was universal: whether super, meta, or mutant, criminals always had an ego to protect. Terry McGinnis was just the one who was willing to go far enough to jab at it.

He slowly undid the bandana from his face and removed his hooded shirt, facing the cold night air momentarily as he turned it inside out, hiding the red emblem. Zipping it back up, he opened the door to the apartment complex proper and stepped in from the cold. Maybe now he could finally get some shut eye.]
