Okay, now that we're not all one big happy family anymore, other people have DVDs here, yeah? The SOS Brigade needs some help coming up with a rental store. Our own very Blockbuster or something. If we all put our collections together, we'll have a pretty good variety and be one step closer to staving off extreme boredom. So if people could just tell me what they've got, we can get a list together. [Feel free to just handwave what that list might be.]

... we also need a place to keep them and someone to run the place. Any ideas?

[That long, long overdue business aside, Kurt is now free to do his own thing. What might that include? Nothing too unusual. Hanging out on top of buildings, spontaneously BAMFing in front of pretty girls, chilling at school during lunch break or coming and going from the SOS Brigade meeting. If he gets bored enough he might just watch people walk around the plaza. Life in Luceti can get a bit dull when your life consists of just socializing and homework. Even if you do have DVDs back home. Too bad he's watched most of the stuff he has already and everything else is just not his kind of stuff.]

Uh, I've got room. And, um, time. My roommate and I have like, four extra rooms and our movie collection back home was like, twice the size of the original Death Star.

Wait... you want to put it in your own house?

[He's a little skeptical about that. Would Haruhi approve of that? People might be less willing to make use of it if renting a movie means going into someone's house...]

[ after the sos brigade meeting, anne reaches familiarly for her housemate's elbow. ]

I know you find your teleportation awfully handy, Kurt -- but I thought...it's getting to be so lovely outside. Spring's finally here and I was wondering if we could, perhaps, walk back to the house together?

[ back home, she is certain that marilla and diana and rachel would call it very improper to ask a boy to accompany her home; however, kurt isn't just like a schoolboy. if you live with someone then surely it's alright to ask for their company? besides -- anne's only rarely fond of rules and guidelines as it is. ]

It is a little overcast, but no less refreshing now that the snow has loosed its grip.

[And to think, Kurt was about to 'port away. The nice thing about Anne moving in was that he didn't have to go home from Brigade meetings alone. It was kind of like having Kitty around. That is, if Kitty was a proper, country grown gal, anyway.

Her offer brings a smirk to his face and he nods.]

Ah, yeah, sure. We can take the long way around if you like?

The long way does have this curious tendency to be the most beautiful way. [ she folds her arms carefully in front of her, holding her books from the pre-meeting school day in her hands. ] Perhaps it has something to do with the time it takes.

[He smirks instead and turns his attention to her.] Or maybe it's just better with the right company, yeah?

Company is a very important part of any social event. Even just a walk home.

[ she returns his smirk with a wide smile and turns towards the door. ]

[Well let him just open that door then.]

You finally get everything back in order at home?

[ what a gentleman! she dips her head gratefully as she steps outside. ]

The virtue in not having much means there isn't much to move. Everything is back where it should be.

[ROGUE is about to go on an ADVENTURE. She just doesn't know it yet. It looks like she's setting out from the house with no particular direction in mind...

But she is full of coffee, and there is something which has been bothering her, and she is off to check it out. Interrupt?]

[sup sis, Kurt's just up here chilling on the roof. When she sets out, he decides to hop off and follow her a bit.]

Anywhere in particular? You can always take the shortcut.

[You know, through a hellish other dimension so fast you don't have time to realize it happened.]

Yeah, everyone keeps making a big deal out of it. [Even Anne!] It's overrated, if you ask me. [He had to walk everywhere when he turned into a normal human. That was so lame.]

[And she'll just start on her way...]

[Mia is walking through the forest, presumably with purpose, but no direction. She has the book in her hands, but for whatever reason has not thought to open it. Or maybe she did, was completely thrown off, and shut it again.

Either way when something blue just appears out of the lower branches of a tree above her, and she runs right into it? It's not a large leap of physics to find her sitting on the ground, quite surprised]

[Kurt had just landed in a tree, on his way back from one of the lakes, when he feels something run into his tail, dangling below the branch. This is pretty unusual and puts him on edge just a bit, because the tail? Nobody messes with the tail. That's a rule.

Rather than turn around like a sensible person, he simply lets himself fall forward, hooks his fingers hook around the branch, so he can hang upside down and see what hit him. That's....

Oh, it's a pretty girl in one of those New Feather dresses. It was the right time of the month for that, wasn't it?]

Ahh... hey there. Welcome to Luceti.

[One of those New Feather dresses in which she feels far too exposed. Even when they reached the desert and she had to ditch the heavy cloak, there was never anything...like this.

Really, she had at least kept her shoes on.]

Ah... [but she can't find much to say while staring at a blue-furred person, dangling upside down on a branch.]

[Hmm. Seems like he startled her. Not good, then. Keeping one hand on the branch, he lets the rest of his body fall, landing into a crouch in front of her, remaining on all four while she's still sitting on the ground.]

Ohh, right. Sorry. Blue and fuzzy look is totally not good for first meetings here. [He holds out one three fingered hand for introduction.] I'm Kurt.

[...Well he seemed friendly enough. Maybe this was another of those places where the people were just...different. Mia smiles, sitting up on her knees and only a little hesitantly taking his hand to shake it]

I'm Mia. [and, giving the only plausible explanation for at least some of what happened] I've been separated from the group I was traveling with. Is there perhaps a town nearby?

[either they went there, or she will wait for them there. They can spare a few worried hours looking for her if the latter is the case.]

[If she's expecting a town full of awesome blue people like Kurt, she's going to be disappointed.

Man, breaking this kind of thing to New Feathers is always hard. Sure, her group might be in Luceti, but there's a good chance they aren't either. Well...]

Yeah, actually, you were headed in the right direction already, yeah? It's a pretty small place though. [And you'll never get to leave there ever. The not-so-enthusiastic way he's saying all this suggest that there's more going on than he's letting on.]

We have stayed in smaller towns before.

[implying that what she heard was something along the lines of, really it's too small to ever have visitors. Maybe not even an inn.]

...Though I do hope you have a shop or market of some kind. [where she can get real clothes.]
