[Kurt arrived none too gently in the middle of the night, lying in front of the fountain. His head was dizzy, but when he finally came to, he realized people were walking by him without so much as looking at him, despite his current state. He realized it was night time, but he was still stunned that they didn't seem to notice him. It was only when he waved his own hand in front of his face and realized he could barely see it that he became suspicious. After moving into the light, it was almost as if he was not stepping from the shadows, but front a literal blanket of darkness. It was almost as if the darkness made him completely invisible.

After making his way to the roof, he realized that everything around him was so much clearer. It wasn't quite like daylight, but he could see even into the dark alleyways with almost perfect clarity. Whatever the Malnosso did to him, it was weird. He makes his way home that night, not realizing an even bigger surprise is waiting for him.]

[The next day when Kurt goes out, he does so with a pair of sunglasses on, in order to cover his now glowing eyes. He avoids the Brigade meeting on purpose (and will be doing so for awhile), instead settling for the mundane task of a quick trip to the grocery store. He's trying to avoid being spotted, so most of his travel will be done by roof top. For the sake of his friends though, he does leave a voice post. He's still wearing his sunglasses for that.]

Hey everyone, it's Kurt. Looks like I'm back. I'm just ahhh... a little under the weather, yeah? I'll be back to normal in no time.

[At least, he hopes he will.]

[And that makes the smile finally fade. He can't ignore the fact that this is definitely not doing Kurt's self-image issues any favours.]

It's not like you're a monster, Kurt.

No. I just look like one, that's all.

[And for some people, that's all that matters. Yet, in spite of that... he's found some people here in Luceti that don't think that. A lot actually. And it helps.]

It's not- [Mikage stops, looking down and scuffing a hand through his hair. He can't say it's not bad, because it's obviously not something to be brushed aside. He can't say Kurt doesn't look like a monster because he does look strange, and not exactly human.

But... well. About monsters...]

You know, I've seen some horrible monsters with human faces, and human bodies. They laugh, and smile, and act like they're your friend, but it's only skin deep. You turn your back and suddenly it's all over for you. And... that's what a real monster is.

[That night, that cell... and two individuals that had more monster in them than anyone he could ever imagine. This isn't the same at all.]

I really can't think of one of my best friends as something like that- not now, not ever.

[Hearing all that from Mikage does make him smile and he pats the side of Mikage's shoulder.]

I appreciate that, man. But I've also got some pretty awesome news too.

[That has Mikage perking up. A smile? Already things are looking up!]

Good news? What happened?

I think I have a girlfriend, man! [A new one! And they kissed!]

Whoa, seriously!? That's awesome! Who is it?

Melanie Walker. She's totally cool. Have you met her?

Her name isn't familiar. You'll have to introduce us, then!

Count on it. You can't miss her. She's blonde, has the brightest blue eyes ever, and is a total babe. [That narrows down the population considerably! Kind of.]

Sounds like you got yourself a pretty great catch, then! I'm looking forward to meeting her.

Don't worry about that, man, I'll make sure it happens. [He wants to PROVE she exists, okay.]

I was wondering why you looked like you were feeling better. So that's why, huh? [Well, it's no wonder. He feels the same sometimes with the kor issue and his own body, so Kurt must have it that much worse.]

Well, it's part of it, for sure. [If Melanie can like him despite this, then maybe he can too.]

Well, I hope it works out for you, I really do. [Kurt deserves someone special, after all. That can make all the difference.]

Ah... well, some stuff went on, but nothing too serious. Oh, but Shuri came back! Right after you were kidnapped, actually. He lost his memories, though, so it's been kind of a weird month so far.

[He offers out the snacks and soda as something of a peace offering. He didn't intend to come over as the bearer of bad news or boggle at freaky circumstance, so.]

What, so he doesn't remember anything? [He remembers cheering Mikage up because he left. Figures Shuri would just leave and come back.] Not even being a girl?

He did say that some stuff was coming back to him, but I don't know if all of his memories will return. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

[He's hopeful, but... not gonna hold his breath, either. Luceti isn't often so kind.]

A little is better than nothing... [Kurt can't be too heartbroken. He barely knew Shuri as it was.]

Yeah, that's why I can't really complain. To be honest, I'm just glad that he's back.

[Even if that's kind of mean and contradicts what he said when Shuri left, but whatever.]

I guess the school needs its president.

[Not that Kurt is going back or anything.]

Haha, well he'd definitely say so, anyway. He's already trying to take over the school council again, now that he knows he was in charge.

I guess it makes him feel special, yeah? [But a shrug and Kurt goes back to eating some of the snacks.] Thanks for dropping by.
