[Although Kurt arrived early in the day, walking around the village was not an option. So he was left with little choice but to wait around until evening, listening in on the journals for clues as to what happened to him. Clearly he wasn't the only recent arrival and he learned quite a big from his fellow New Feathers having the situation explained to them. So, in the dead of night, Kurt finally enters the village, teleporting from one room to another. His first stop is the clothing store. After finding some discreet, normal outfit (opting to come back for his X-Men uniform later), he leaves and goes to the item store to find his holo watch. If anyone happens to run into him during the dead of night, they'll find that he's keeping to the shadows and has himself covered in a robe. He'll talk if he's found, at least at first. But he's not keen to reveal himself and will teleport away immediately.

The next morning, though, Kurt will be walking around town in the appearance of a normal human kid, exploring the various parts of the towns, mostly the shops and Welcome Center. Later, he even makes a voice post, sounding just a bit timid as he does so.]

Hello everyone, my name is Kurt. I ah, arrived yesterday. I was wondering if any of my friends were already here? [Seemed reasonable to ask... so many other people arrived to people who already knew them.]

[Well, that gets this ninja's attention. Luceti isn't the kind of technologically-advanced place where you expect to see random flashes of light from the roofs of buildings.

Most likely it's someone practicing their magic - though it seems like a strange time and place for it.

Don sits up on his branch and watches to see if the flash comes again.]

[After determining the streets are empty, Kurt suddenly vanishes with a dull 'BAMF!', leaving behind a barely illuminated cloud where he was. Although undetectable from where Don is, it smells vaguely of brimstone.

In the meantime, Kurt reappears inside the store he was crouched on before.]

[Too bad Turtles have such a lousy sense of smell.]

[All remains quiet, but after a few moments Don slides out of the tree anyway. He's not falling asleep and being alone with his thoughts is only making a certain problem worse than it already is.

He'll approach the building where he saw the flash, looking around to see if he can spot the person responsible.]

[Inside the store, Kurt can be found going through the clothes, every now and then watching to make sure no one shows up. He's just trying to find a simple outfit, anything that's better than this robe he stole from someone's house earlier in the day.]

[Ah, the clothing store. Don has never found a reason to go inside.

He scuffles around outside the front windows for a while, then gives in to the need to talk to someone who isn't himself.]

Hello?

[Or maybe there wasn't anyone there at all.]

[Kurt instantly freezes when he sees someone. He crouches down to the ground, his dimly glowing eyes looking up from the hood at the stranger. A very... oddly shaped stranger, but with so little light he can barely tell.]

What do you want?

[Don holds up his hands - in the darkness, it's more a reflex than anything else.]

Peace, friend. Are you new here? I heard on the journals we're having another cycle.

Yes, I am new. I just want clothes, that's all. They are free, aren't they? I'm not stealing anything.

[So he'd be happy if you left him alone.]

[He'll lounge against the doorframe instead.]

Everything is free here. And, as you've discovered, opening hours are only a suggestion.

[He looks thoughtfully to the sky.]

Where are you from?

[Well, a conversation like this isn't so bad. Still, if he has to, he can be out of here in a flash.]

Bayville. New York. [In spite of the very obvious German accent.]

[This answer intrigues him.] Long Island? What year?

[That would be a strange question if he hadn't already found the guide. It's still odd to be asked, but he lets it go.] Two thousand-three. You?

Oh. [A little disappointed.] Manhattan. Two thousand-five.

[A pause. Aren't you done yet? Humans and clothes...]

Do you have a place to stay?

The future, then... [So maybe Apocalypse didn't end the world? Or maybe he just ended most of it. As for the clothing, he hasn't picked out anything else since Donnie showed up. He does, however, finally rise to his feet again.]

I will find something. [Somewhere nice and private, he hopes.]

[Still loitering in the doorway.] Listen... it's pretty late to be looking at housing options. I have a couch I'm not using...

[Oh snap. How does he get out of this without seeming rude?]

It would be better I didn't... There are plenty of empty apartments.

[Huh. He seems to have a knack for running into New Feathers who like their personal space.]

[As nice as this conversation is, he'd really like to go find his holowatch now...]

[Six months. That's all it's taken for him to almost forget how harrowing it is to meet a new person. Not that he knows you have the same problem.]

[He'll get out of your way now, moving from the doorway into the plaza. But he doesn't go far.]

Like the turtle. [He says this in a bit of amusement, more of a joke than a real accusation.] Or the painter?

[Somehow, Don manages to freeze, despite the fact he wasn't moving.] .... I'm sorry?

I guess you've never seen the Ninja Turtles. Nevermind. [That new show he had heard about, but never watched, must have tanked horribly.]

No, wait a minute. [He moves back toward you.] Does our reputation get around that quickly?

'Our reputation'? What do you mean? [He backs away just a bit, bumping into the shelf below him.]
