Zweiundzwanzig - [Action/Voice]
[When Kurt steps out of the tunnel today, he's relieved. It's kind of like being back home, if home was a place where you were at the mercy of scientists and bureaucrats and the subject of weird experiments. But it's got friends and family, so he's still relieved to be here. Not to mention having a sky over him again. It's kind of refreshing to actually be chilly! Although a little sore from two weeks of teleporting, he's content to make his way back home.
... where he'll find out Jubilee is gone. Not to mention that Melanie is still away. It's kind of a bummer on both count. But he keeps his chin high and remembers that he still has friends. Jubilee went back to the X-Men she belongs with, he's with the X-Men he belongs with, and he'll be ready the moment Melanie comes back.
After spending some time getting settled back into the X-House again, he goes out for the evening, looking for some fun to stimulate a Kurt who spent two weeks of fighting and boredom (and people staring at him like a freak). Good Spirits, Cloud Nine, and the Rec Center are all stops this evening for him. A successful mission completed deserves a little celebration, after all.
At some point, he pops open his journal to ask something he's been thinking about. From what he knows of Kotetsu and Pao-Lin's world, it almost seems to have 'mutants' like him. But unlike his world, they seem to have a better lot than mutants in his world do. After two weeks of being stared at like a freak, his own mutation is pretty heavy on his mind. Maybe other worlds are like this too?]
So a lot of us have powers, yeah? How many people were born with them... but only by accident? I don't mean like some kind of magical powers, but something totally random.
And... what do the people of your world think of that?

[With the heavy implications of 'What if she became your NOT girlfriend?']
[ action ]
[What he really needs to do is find Melanie a roommate. Because Kurt does have principles. But he hates to see Mel alone like that.]
[ action ]
[Is she teasing? WHO CAN TELL?]
[ action ]
[Seriously, nothing more than smoochies and hand holding!]
[ action ]
All right, all right. Geeze.
[ action ]
... anyway, I'm kidding! Come on, I know that's not a good idea.
[ action ]
We've gotta keep a room free for the revolvin' door, anyway.
[ action ]
[ action ]
[Though she'd hoped he would. Each and every command decision, she'd hoped he would.]
[ action ]
Yeah... but it's kind of nice having him here anyway.
[ action ]
You sound try an' catch him up. To whatever ya want him to know. I tried but...
[IT DIDN'T GO WELL.]
[ action ]
What did you tell him?
[ action ]
Got up to the part where Risty was Mystique and Mystique adopted me... kinda got off track after that.
[So. Not much.]
[ action ]
[If anyone had a reason to hate the living guts out of Mystique, Scott certainly deserved to wear one of the jackets.]
[ action ]
Actually, he didn't seem too phased by that.
[ action ]
[ action ]
We got - sidetracked, is all.
[ action ]
Of course he does.]
By what?
[ action ]
She goes for option C: the stall.]
It's not that important.
[ action ]
If it's not important, then just say it.
[ action ]
He wanted ta know if I left the X-Men to join up with her.
[With Mystique.]
[ action ] 1/2

[ action ]
Guess he was just tryin' ta be understandin'. Ya know, if I had.
[One of these days, Rogue will be able to say something negative about Scott Summers. Today is not that day.
...although she wouldn't have wanted understanding if that had happened. She would have wanted to be dragged back, kicking and screaming if necessary. She wouldn't want to just be - let go.
Easy come, easy go, Rogue. She wants a family, someplace she can belong...
And when it had come down to it, they had come after her.]
[ action ]
I guess he doesn't get to ask the easy questions.
[But that's what the leader does, right? He has to do the things the others won't. He can't just make assumptions.]
