Zweiundzwanzig - [Action/Voice]

[When Kurt steps out of the tunnel today, he's relieved. It's kind of like being back home, if home was a place where you were at the mercy of scientists and bureaucrats and the subject of weird experiments. But it's got friends and family, so he's still relieved to be here. Not to mention having a sky over him again. It's kind of refreshing to actually be chilly! Although a little sore from two weeks of teleporting, he's content to make his way back home.

... where he'll find out Jubilee is gone. Not to mention that Melanie is still away. It's kind of a bummer on both count. But he keeps his chin high and remembers that he still has friends. Jubilee went back to the X-Men she belongs with, he's with the X-Men he belongs with, and he'll be ready the moment Melanie comes back.

After spending some time getting settled back into the X-House again, he goes out for the evening, looking for some fun to stimulate a Kurt who spent two weeks of fighting and boredom (and people staring at him like a freak). Good Spirits, Cloud Nine, and the Rec Center are all stops this evening for him. A successful mission completed deserves a little celebration, after all.

At some point, he pops open his journal to ask something he's been thinking about. From what he knows of Kotetsu and Pao-Lin's world, it almost seems to have 'mutants' like him. But unlike his world, they seem to have a better lot than mutants in his world do. After two weeks of being stared at like a freak, his own mutation is pretty heavy on his mind. Maybe other worlds are like this too?]

So a lot of us have powers, yeah? How many people were born with them... but only by accident? I don't mean like some kind of magical powers, but something totally random.

And... what do the people of your world think of that?

You should come over sometime. I guarantee a nice home-cooked meal.

[The princess invites the fuzzy blue elf to meet her pirate family. Hasn't he seen this movie before?]

It sounds tempting, but it seems like you guys have enough people to cook for, yeah?

[She makes a dismissive wave of her hand, because since they have to cook enough to feed a small army (aka Luffy) in the first place, one more guest really doesn't make much of a difference.]

It's no trouble. [Although...it is usually pretty crowded and rowdy around mealtimes.] ...ah, but maybe you'd rather eat in peace and quiet.

I grew up with peace and quiet. Trust me, it's kind of overrated. But if you ever want some, we're pretty well behaved at my place. At least, sometimes.

[It is a house with teenagers, after all.]

Mm. I still haven't been able to visit you there.

[The one time Vivi had tried dropping in, Rogue had informed her that Kurt was currently kidnapped.]

I guess it's just bad timing. [Seems to be a recurring theme with them.]

It seems that way. Maybe it would be better to plan something ahead of time?

Ahh, who cares about planning, yeah? Just come over sometime. As long as we have warning to clean up, it'll be fine.

If you're sure that won't be an imposition... [She smiles, and gives one decisive nod.] All right. I'll do that.

[With that settled, she moves onto a different topic.] What are you up to this evening?

Hanging out. Looking for something fun. [A shrug.] I heard there's a party somewhere tonight.

Oh? [She hadn't heard about that, but she's also been somewhat preoccupied the last few days since Nami and Sanji showed up as children.]

What kind of party?

I don't know. Some guy named Spike is having it. So it's gotta be cool, yeah? [Except no. He'll find out it's a sad, old people party with depressed, drunk people.]

[She's not sure she follows the logic in that, Kurt, but whatever you say.]

I hope you have a good time, then.

[Spike. SPIKE. That is the name of a cool person, okay.]

You could stop by too, if you want. [Except she'd probably stick out as much as he does.]

Oh... [A bit hesitant, since she doesn't know the host, or even who else is attending. Wouldn't it be kind of rude to just show up?]

I'm not sure I'll know anyone there, so maybe it's best I don't.

Ahh, fair enough. It might end up lame and I'll have to sneak out.

[A trip to the bathroom and bamf, he's out of loserville!]

I hope not. Either way, I expect a full report!

No worries, I won't leave anything out! [Unless it's awful, okay.] So what have you been up to?

[Vivi laughs lightly.] Oh, things have been interesting. Nami-san and Sanji-san came back from a kidnapping as children. Though...they seem to be getting older gradually--have you ever heard of something like that happening?

And another of Luffy-san's crew returned, Mr Bushi--ah, Zoro-san. [She's not sure if Kurt met him while he was here before, but it's obvious he won't know Zoro by the nickname she uses.] The same day Nami-san and Sanji-san returned, actually. It was nice timing.

... not really, unless you mean the normal kind of gradually. [That's weird. Maybe he should keep an eye out for Nami...] How many does that make of you all now? That house must be pretty crowded.

[She shakes her head.] No; I'd guess it's closer to half a year or more every day. [More like a year a day, but it's only been two days since they returned, and it's hard to judge while they're so young.]

And that would make...[a short pause while she mentally double-checks]...nine of us there now. Six from Luffy-san's crew--well, seven if you count me--then Bellemere-san and Keimi-san. Oh, but before he went home, Franky-san added a second floor, so it's not bad at all!

[Even with two floors, nine is a lot!]

Man, I hope the second floor has a bathroom.

[No doubt, but when you're used to sharing close quarters on a ship, having your own bedroom, even a small one, is quite the luxury.]

Of course. [One that Nami has designated the boys' bathroom, so enter at your own risk.] It's a little crowded, but we all have our own rooms now, too.

Trust me, I know crowded. We ahh... kind of lose the mansion once. So while it was being rebuilt, we had to live in this small place underground. It was brutal!

[Honestly, Vivi's still a little fuzzy on the whole X-Men deal.]
