bamfing | Vierzehn - [Action/Voice]

[It's been nothing but rain and gloom since Kurt was tossed back into Luceti on the seventeenth with a few injuries and an unusual interest in his adopted 'sister' Rogue. Some bed rest and food had brought him back to health, but seeing the sun out bright and shining helped has raised his spirits. Sure, it's still a very soggy looking Luceti out there, but some more sunshine should help fix that.

This means Kurt is back into his usual routine of things, teleporting or hopping from roof to roof, hanging out in trees, or catching the beautiful views from on top of community buildings. There's school and the Brigade... but he'll skip those today. He hasn't spent a few days sleeping just to go sit inside and listen to people talk about stuff. Ultimately, he can be found just about anywhere in the village or the outskirts of it, stretching his limbs and enjoying the almost-but-not-quite-Spring weather.

Later her makes a voice post... while upside down in a tree. It's not even that hard to see in the picture box, what with his hair hanging towards the ground and the upside houses behind him. It turns out skipping school and Brigade meetings makes for a pretty dull day and by the time he's missed both of them, he's looking for something to do. Good thing there's social networking tools for bothering all people in Luceti simultaneously.]

So I know being in Luceti is totally whack and mostly lame, but it's not always bad, yeah? I mean, even with messed up experiments and that crazy old guy who makes cool, fuzzy and blue people like me look bad, there's those pretty cool days. Like today's a pretty good one. So, anyone remember any other good times they've had here?

Ahhh... well, that's complicated. [Let's... not go into his biological parents.] I was adopted.

Then there's a chance there're more blue elves out there somewhere, right?

No, not really. In my world, people like me are called mutants.

Mutants?

[ Elves are mu... no, don't be ridiculous. It's more -- mutants? How and why? She knows about different species, sure, even if "elf" was new as far as actually exisitng, but --

-- whaaaat exactly was a mutant? Something tied in to radiation? SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS GONE WRONG?! ]

What do you mean, people like you are called "mutants?"

I only look like an elf, kind of. It's just a nick name, yeah?

My parents were human. So were my real parents... but mutants. Born different than everyone else. Sometimes mutants look like normal humans and no one knows. Other times... well you end up like me.

[ There's really no concrete parallel for Liz, so she's trying to figure this out on her own. ]

Then you're -- human.

[ Check. ]

And your parents were, too. Only mutants, too.

And because of that mutation, or their mutations or whatever it is, you ended up looking like a blue elf.

[ ... She never really got how genetics worked in the first place, but man, she really, really isn't getting them now. ]

But if you can't always tell, then what does being a mutant -- do? You just are? And it only matters when you end up --

[ alsjfdk she trails off and can't really be seen gesturing at the journal but that is exactly what she's doing. ]

[HE KNOWS! It's hard, okay!]

W-well, for most mutants, it's not looking different. Most people don't find out until they're a teenager and they start getting... special powers.

[ It's called puberty, really, the word's okay to use.

... Okay it's probably a little more than that, but the way he said it... ]

[If ONLY. They have to deal with puberty AND powers that can hurt people.]

Well, I can teleport. My friend Scott shoots laser beams from his eyes. Jean can move stuff with her mind. The professor can even read minds or control people with his thoughts.

Oh yeah. We ah, don't even really have magic. I don't think so, anyway.

[Those people from Storm's old tribe used some weird stuff, but he wasn't convinced it was really magic.]

This is all so hard to believe...

[ She sounds a little whiny, rubbing at her face like it'll make more sense if she rubs long enough. ]

I guess it's not that much weirder than Weapons and Meisters, let alone Witches, but...

What's so weird about weapons? [Eh, not important.] Besides, this is Luceti! I'm totally not the weirdest thing! I met a talking, walking skeleton man here.

[ Liz thinks her heart just skipped a beat, and not in anything close to the happy way. ]

A wa-walking skeleton man?

[Oh man, she's as excitable as he is.]

Yeah! It was crazy! He even had a giant afro!

A skeleton had an afro? How's that even possible?

[ Does hair grow that much after skeletonization!? ]

I don't know. Maybe it was a wig?

Why would a skeleton wear a wig?

So he won't be bald!

Is he afraid the shine off his bare skull would frighten people away?

[ SUCH DISBELIEF how is baldness bad -- though this sounds so... plausible to her ]
