[Well, Kurt is at home with nothing to do. He's finished his homework, goofed off in the Battle Dome, and isn't quite up to crashing in on his friends and seeing what they're up to. Apparently that's annoying. So he has only one alternative - watch movies he's already seen several times or be entertained by Luceti's populace. Which means getting a discussion going. Something simple and mindless to talk about.]

Okay, so everyone. You're on a boat and it shipwrecks on a deserted island. You can only take one thing with you from home. What is it?

... ohh, right, and if you have any kind of superpowers that would get you off the island, those don't count. Or for making new stuff and- actually, yeah, no superpowers at all. Just stuff you bring!

[ all that popping. it unnerves her and makes her more and more curious all at the same time. ]

No rush! I'll just hang out here.

[ so eventually anne comes striding along with her ridiculous many layers of outfit. ]

Every time that I see you, Kurt -- you always look so different.

[Just... brushing that off with a smile.]

I just get more attractive each time, yeah?

Well -- as convenient as it was to have a friend I could fit in my hand, I think I prefer you at this height. The small stature had been a bit distracting.

[ because apparently that is all she found distracting. the everything else? why, she is simply in awe. you're such an interesting boy to look at, kurt. ]

[Ahaha... yeah, that was weird. Girls are so interesting when you remember them being a hundred feet tall...]

Ahh, right. It's a lot easier getting stuff from the fridge at this size too.

I can imagine! [ though fridges are still odd to her. with a smile she turns in the direction of the library. ] Have you been keeping well, Kurt?

[Right. He sets off towards the library, walking upright, even if walking on all fours is way better.]

Oh yeah. I haven't used my holo watch in over a month! [And they haven't set him on fire yet, so, that's a plus.]

A holo watch? I don't think I've ever heard of one of those.

[ she folds her hands primly in front of her and walks alongside kurt. ]

It's what I used to look like a regular person, like when we first met.

So -- a disguise. Like a costume? [ she shrugs lightly. her imagination has happily latched on to the many different faces in luceti and so she doesn't quite understand the motive involved. ]

Yeah, exactly. It used to make going out a lot easier, especially back home.

Were they very contrary to your appearance, back home?

[ and it is true that she could imagine the kind of gossip rachel lynde would get up to when faced with someone who looked like kurt. ]

[Contrary? Really?]

Yeah. Very contrary.

[ though avonlea probably would try and burn you, kurt. why they even sang a whole song about her being a devil-child she-witch and she's just a redhead. ]

[he walks a little faster towards the library, like maybe he can ditch that line of conversation.]

[ sensing his desire for a different subject: ] So, is this Seuss very popular in your time?

Way popular. One of the most famous writers ever, definitely.

You make him sound more and more intriguing every second. When I do stop and think about how so many people here are from beyond my time, I can only turn green with envy. There must be so many amazing things yet to be written or played or enjoyed.

Ah! Well, I bet there's just as much stuff waiting to be written for me too.

[ ah. the library. she smiles to see it appear ahead of them on the path. ] Perhaps you should ask around. Maybe someone will know a future writer to suggest to you.

Maybe. Or maybe some good movie recs would work too.
