Sechs - [Action/Voice]

[Kurt is hanging out at the Battle Dome today. One nice thing about not having Wolverine around is that the programs he gets to pick aren't too hard and he gets to pick his own pace. But practice is still important, right? Besides, he gets to practice using the handy saber he picked up at the weapon shop. Sure, maybe it isn't practical to his typical training in subduing enemies with guns or mutant powers, but it's way more fun. But then, he'll probably never legitimately be fighting pirates on the high seas in epic sword duels. It's his guilty pleasure, okay? He likes to see imagine himself as a handsome, swashbuckling hero.

In between sessions, he decides to take a break, eat something from the vending machine and chat with people.]

People use the battle dome here a lot, right? Anyone have any favorite scenarios they like to fight in?

[Gian, for the record, look more or less like (http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/8062/tarellians3.jpg) this (http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/2738/tarellians4.jpg) except for the fact that their scales are probably blue, they have a lone thin horn-like spine coming out of their elbows (and a few will have more on the top of their head-crest things), and their armor and scales alike might have some ceremonial war paint on them (hey; they don't tattoo well!). And, like she said, one of them might actually have a sword out because it's a post-battle hunt.

Anyway. She smirks at this.

She can't wait to see what the boy can do, but once she sounds off that spotting, forsaking using her sword for a moment, Nina picks up one of the Solarian guns out of the crate, and with the precision clearly born out of using these things a lot brings up the scope after dropping to a nice cover spot. ...Oh. Lining up a shot- this angle sucks]

Arrogant sonovbitch, really.

Normal sword? [Hey, normal sword... she has to think about this] It won't pierce their armor, but it should cut through the hide if you're strong enough. The underscales are softer too.

[Mind you, she says this as she's still lining up the gian in her sights. Come on, scaly, give her an angle...]

[Okay... okay... and...

Fire. The first burst from the rifle she intends to have blow out the gain's eye, but she misfires and hits his thick upper skull instead. Either way he starts bleeding and turns to them before quickly realizing he should head to cover. Nina curses and then switches the rifle to full auto, letting bullets spray as the gian flees.

Once in the leg is good enough to trip the thing up and then another series of bullets pumping into its sides seem to be sufficient to kill it. Or at least get it out of the action.

Unfortunately, this seems to have alerted all the others in the area, as they now are making a break over for her. Some more rapidly than others]

[Personal teleportation? Nina actually blinks, amazed for a moment. No known species is capable of things like that, even the xel need a focal point of some sort to dimension-shift. It was possible he has some sort of equipment, but... that was be impressive too. The minute he's back, she glances him once-over.

The only possible thing is that watch, right? But- No, she can't afford that. She lines up her targets again, but as she does that:]

That's a neat trick.

[identity profile] compos-mentis.livejournal.com 2010-11-23 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll bet. [Okay, she looks at the squabble. They'll be good, and then- oh, look, a third one coming around the other way. That one's just got a sword. She only sees him out of the corner of her eye, but points over there for Kurt]

You take that one.

[identity profile] compos-mentis.livejournal.com 2010-11-26 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Good boy; she's got her own people to off though. Lining up her targets on the fighting pair she aims and... her previous loss is "redeemed" when after only a short spray of bullets she pieces one of the gian's eyes and in doing so blows out the things brains.

Logically, she could just shoot at the other one, but where's the fun in that? Smirking, she discards the rifle, brings her Voidblade to bare, and then slinks on off towards the other, now angry, beaten, and confused remaining gian.]

[It is indeed. And stalk... before-]

Hey, big guy. [She's actually speaking the gian language but... lol auto-translator. Anyway, the gian turns his attention to her and. Well, in that moment she lunges in with a trust. The gian stumbles, finding it cut straight through his chest armor- at least partially.

The gian then brandishes his own ceremonial blade. And well, cue swordfight]

[identity profile] compos-mentis.livejournal.com 2010-12-03 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Very unlikely. The fight is quick, but calculated. One deflect, one dodge, and then with a manic grin, she calls on one of the gian's feints and brings the sword up when he's off-balance through his jaw and into the back of the skull. Blood everywhere, perfectly messy. But she seems to be enjoying the momentum, because as soon as she pulls it off and flicks off a little blood she's running towards the rough position where the other giant came from.

Given that the simulation didn't end there must be one more there. In fact, it's the commander, who was in a prayer, but now is done with it and wondering what all the ruckus was]

[What was that? Nina was watching the fight with a baited interest from a distance - considering when might be a good time to jump in and kill steal - but that threw her off entirely. That was a holo-flash, or something like that, right? A full body...? Running over her memories, something was off and now she narrows her eyes, deciding against going to help the kid at all. Instead she takes a cover position to just watch him. And now pay much more careful attention to his movements because this is much more interesting than reliving this past she can barely remember]
