Sechs - [Action/Voice]

[Kurt is hanging out at the Battle Dome today. One nice thing about not having Wolverine around is that the programs he gets to pick aren't too hard and he gets to pick his own pace. But practice is still important, right? Besides, he gets to practice using the handy saber he picked up at the weapon shop. Sure, maybe it isn't practical to his typical training in subduing enemies with guns or mutant powers, but it's way more fun. But then, he'll probably never legitimately be fighting pirates on the high seas in epic sword duels. It's his guilty pleasure, okay? He likes to see imagine himself as a handsome, swashbuckling hero.

In between sessions, he decides to take a break, eat something from the vending machine and chat with people.]

People use the battle dome here a lot, right? Anyone have any favorite scenarios they like to fight in?

I've been there a few times, but its programming is totally sketchy.

[This place really does have everything, even its own version of the Danger Room! Storm walks in, taking a look around before her eyes settle on Kurt.]

Hello, Kurt.

[Kurt looks up from the journal and grins. He's currently sitting at a bench. She might note the fact he has a sheathed saber leaning besides him.]

Oh, hey Ororo! You planning to do a scenario?

[WHY CAN'T YOU QUIT HIM.]

Sketchy how?

Later, perhaps. I'd like to see how it works, first.

That's an interesting choice of weapon you have there. Expanding your range?

[Oh, right. The sword. He hasn't exactly been advertising that too much...]

Ah, well. It kind of goes with the scenario I like to train in. And not many people use guns around here, so it seemed like a good idea... [And should totally be okay! It's not nearly as dangerous as what Wolverine uses!]

Hm...I have a few. You saw one of them, Mount Kolts. I like that one mostly for the view, but it can be a good challenge. Shadow showed me another interesting one that I'd never seen, in a cave with all sorts of traps and secret openings and switches and the like. We had to move through it just right; fighting monsters wasn't enough.

[No guns, eh? Well, that's certainly good to know.]

And what scenario is that? [She picks it up curiously.]

[Man, Kurt feels like he's done something horribly wrong. Broken the X-Men code...]

Uh, well... it's an 19th century pirate ship... and I have to fight them all off singlehandedly.

[Man, Terra's scenarios are so much more hardcore than what he does. Perhaps, however, not as exciting. But hard.]

Have you managed to beat it yet?

No, but I won't give up! I just need more practice with it.

[Reeeeally.] Do you think I'd be any help in it? I've been getting a lot better with the sword!

[Obviously. Danger Room sessions without the lasers and guns and whirring blades of doom? For shame.]

[... Well okay, his answer makes her smile a little, amused.]

A pirate ship? Sounds exciting. [All right, she'll hand the saber back to him.] You'd make an excellent hero, Kurt.

[sob, he'll never be a real X-Man now...]

[He takes the sword back and stares awkwardly at it.]

Ahh, well, I don't know about that. I probably wouldn't do so good if it was the real thing... [He hasn't turned the difficulty level up that high yet.]

That's what the simulations are for, are they not? Practice enough, and you'll get better.

Have you a teacher instructing you how to use that? [She cocks her head toward the weapon.]

[Well, she isn't lecturing him, so that's good. He gives a nod to the question.]

My friend Mikage has been showing me some moves. But I've been pretty good at improvising. [And with a satisfied grin.] I can even hold one with my tail.

Of course! I would like that very much. It's not something I could do alone, anyway. The way it's set up requires at least two people.

[Mmm. Hopefully this Mikage knew what he was teaching Kurt. Oh, for Logan and his uncanny ability to wield whatever weapon he gets his hands on to be here now.]

Simply holding a sword is worlds away from wielding one, Kurt.

[On one hand, bringing extra people would probably be idea. On the other... well, that's not letting him get to spend alone time with Terra.]

Awesome, I am so down with that. What kind of traps are there?

I know that. But how many other people can wield three swords at once? [Not that he makes a habit out of this. That's way too much weight to carry around and extremely hard to coordinate.]

Floor spikes, boiling lava beds...and Shadow said there's a Red Dragon at the end of it.

[Spiked floors!? Lava beds!?]

Wow... man, your world is crazy, Terra. Why would anyone even go there?

[A small smile forms.]

And I haven't even shown you Zozo, yet....

Well, Shadow said that in the cave was an important Esper that we would need. A friend of ours was looking for it, and we in turn were looking for him. So, that's why we went...though it hasn't happened to me, yet. That's why I don't know it as well as he does.

[Someone from the future! That must be confusing. Kurt counted himself fortunate he had the advantage of being in the future over Kitty and Ororo.]

An Esper? Like you? [That's what she said she was, right? Half Esper? He's pretty sure, in any case.]

[A new face walks into the battle dome, looking over the place with a keen interest. A backpack is slung over one shoulder, but the style of his clothing seems a bit...off from what Kurt would find typical. He looks to be only a few years older than Kurt, if that.]
