Sechs - [Action/Voice]
[Kurt is hanging out at the Battle Dome today. One nice thing about not having Wolverine around is that the programs he gets to pick aren't too hard and he gets to pick his own pace. But practice is still important, right? Besides, he gets to practice using the handy saber he picked up at the weapon shop. Sure, maybe it isn't practical to his typical training in subduing enemies with guns or mutant powers, but it's way more fun. But then, he'll probably never legitimately be fighting pirates on the high seas in epic sword duels. It's his guilty pleasure, okay? He likes to see imagine himself as a handsome, swashbuckling hero.
In between sessions, he decides to take a break, eat something from the vending machine and chat with people.]
People use the battle dome here a lot, right? Anyone have any favorite scenarios they like to fight in?

Sure! How big are we talking about here?

...Hm. She taps her fingers on the console some more here. As she runs through more things on her she says, thinking out loud as she scrolls through attempting to modify the species of which battle they'll be in...]
About two meters tall, usually... sometimes less if they aren't well bred.
no subject
Oh. So... human sized. [That's reassuring.]
no subject
[...Hm. Okay, let's set their side as almost eliminated and... A single squad of gian. This is just an experiment, after all]
no subject
Ah, right. Big and burly. Great.

Ready?
[Seems she's all set]

Anything I should know about these gian guys?
no subject
Like I said, averaging at about two meters tall, they look like bipedal lizards. They tend to focus on upper body armor and standard armament for them at this time is a kinetic rifle - fires a series of little microbullets. [...] The way I think I've set it up though, these guys should think they've already won; they're hunting the stragglers from a retreat - that's us - for sport. [He fingers dance again.. no, no, be fair] If you see one with white or red scales, it's probably the commander.
Also- some of them might be dumb enough to break out ceremonial weapons, so you might even get a good ol' sword fight. A few of them might even being praying or doing some sort of ritual.
[The venom with which she says that last line clearly shows her stance on religion. The gian are, after all, a very religious people. But what good did their gods ever do them: they were beat back in all three of their "Great Crusades" as history liked to call them.]
Should be twelve of them, tops. Nothing we can't handle, right?
[Ignoring she doesn't know this kid or his abilities. Honestly, she's just trying to freak him out at this point. ...But then two more thoughts hit her]
Nina Parker, by the way.

Kurt Wagner. [A pause.] I think I can handle it.

The scene in the room they're to go in changed to a bright summer's noon in a landscape somewhat similar to this (http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/976/1222599146s6jfigi.jpg), but for the fact that a towering facility not unlike this (http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/3379/3585499997a6db857a8o.jpg) will be over-shadowing them in the background. It's worth noting that this building looks abandoned, but only recently, as if it was cleared out very quickly maybe a week or so ago, tops. It's also in much better condition than most else that is going to be around them.
Oh, and the fact it's clearly the aftermath of a skirmish of some sort. Kurt and Nina are going to find themselves starting off in an entrenched position which is clearly on its last legs. There's quite a few dead guys laying around in various states of having been shot to death with microbullets - all of them human (both genders) and in uniforms like this (http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/7968/desertsoldier.jpg), albeit naturally to match the terrain the colors are more redish. Some might not have helmets. Naturally, this also means that there's some of their guns littered all over the area (all slug-throwers, basically an evolved form of a modern machine gun) as well as some grenades (fragmentation, mostly, given the enemy) and possibly a (damaged beyond use) mounted chain gun or something. There's also some burning, blasted things, and generally just battle-damage one might expect at a position which clearly got overwhelmed a while ago.
There's also a few supply crates, one of them right next to the duo happens to look much more pristine than anything else around them, so Nina heads over to that one and, peering insane... oh wow. Mint condition Solarian marine armor? Mind you, this is long-dated by her time but score. Excuse her while she pulls a suit for her out and is going to start to put it on right in their position. Your call for your what do Kurt. Do you follow suit? Look around? There's a few options, really.
...Should you choose to try to look out in the direction opposite of the building though you might notice some movement in the rocks some hundred or so meters off. Restless movement, maybe a glimpse of blue scaled skin.

Nina! We've got one, two o'clock!
no subject
Anyway. She smirks at this.
She can't wait to see what the boy can do, but once she sounds off that spotting, forsaking using her sword for a moment, Nina picks up one of the Solarian guns out of the crate, and with the precision clearly born out of using these things a lot brings up the scope after dropping to a nice cover spot. ...Oh. Lining up a shot- this angle sucks]
Arrogant sonovbitch, really.
no subject
So what are the chances this sword will be any good against him?
no subject
[Mind you, she says this as she's still lining up the gian in her sights. Come on, scaly, give her an angle...]

Fire. The first burst from the rifle she intends to have blow out the gain's eye, but she misfires and hits his thick upper skull instead. Either way he starts bleeding and turns to them before quickly realizing he should head to cover. Nina curses and then switches the rifle to full auto, letting bullets spray as the gian flees.
Once in the leg is good enough to trip the thing up and then another series of bullets pumping into its sides seem to be sufficient to kill it. Or at least get it out of the action.
Unfortunately, this seems to have alerted all the others in the area, as they now are making a break over for her. Some more rapidly than others]

We've got incoming!
[... and suddenly he vanishes into a puff of smoke. A moment later, he'll appear in the middle of the group of fighters. He'll appear at their feet, tripping one up or slashing their feet, before appearing at another. All in all, it's causing a quite a ruckus in the ranks and some of them even begin to hit each other as a result. About ten seconds of this is enough before Kurt reappears, beside Nina again.]
That should distract them.
no subject
The only possible thing is that watch, right? But- No, she can't afford that. She lines up her targets again, but as she does that:]
That's a neat trick.
no subject
Thanks. It tends to come in handy.
no subject
You take that one.
no subject
When Kurt reappears, he's at the gian's feet and manages to sweep a leg under its feet, throwing it off balance. Now, to finish it off while it's down.]
no subject
Logically, she could just shoot at the other one, but where's the fun in that? Smirking, she discards the rifle, brings her Voidblade to bare, and then slinks on off towards the other, now angry, beaten, and confused remaining gian.]

Hey, big guy. [She's actually speaking the gian language but... lol auto-translator. Anyway, the gian turns his attention to her and. Well, in that moment she lunges in with a trust. The gian stumbles, finding it cut straight through his chest armor- at least partially.
The gian then brandishes his own ceremonial blade. And well, cue swordfight]
