Fünf - [Action/Voice]
[It's been two weeks since Kurt had been at school. Or much of anywhere, really. He'd only checked in on a few of the friends who already knew about his 'fuzzy condition' and otherwise avoided being spotted, mostly lurking in the dark. Which meant turning in the homework Terra picked up for him, explaining away the fact he was 'sick', and avoiding too many questions being asked. After that, he even attends the Brigade meeting like a good little minion, despite also being absent from it for the entire month so far. Afterward, he'll be hanging around town, including testing out the Battle Dome. It's a lot like the Danger Room he's familiar with.
Once that's all said and done, he'll go ahead and make himself known on the journals.]
So, I kind of disappeared there for awhile. Sorry about that. I was uh, not quite feeling like myself. How's everyone doing?

Hey Diana. Or uh, Wonder Woman. I have a question.

Hey Diana. Or uh, Wonder Woman. I have a question.

[voice]
But yeah, she's there in about ten minutes, knocking on the door and hoping that she's got the right one.]
[voice]
Hey Sapphire. Looks like you found the right place.
[action]
[- holy what is that
after stepping inside, Sapphire turns and stands on her tiptoes to look through the eyehole. Nifty, but why?
She does have her homework with her, sans pencil.]
[action]
[Fortunately he has plenty of pencils on the table. He went and grabbed some at the store while she was taking FOREVER to get to his apartment.]
You thirsty?
[action]
[...there is more to this place than the Niftydoor isn't there]
Not really. But thanks!
[Tables would be useful for writing, wouldn't they? She'll set her homework down there.
...it's all penmanship exercises.]
[action]
So you keep breaking your pencils? Show me.
[action]
[She leans over the table, snatching up a pencil. It's immediately obvious that she doesn't write regularly - the way she's holding the pencil is downright awkward and too forceful.
She repositions her hand a few times before starting a letter, and finishes a shaky "S" before the pencil gives under the bizarre angle and the excess pressure that Sapphire is placing on it.
After a moment of blinking, she holds it up with a sheepish grin.]
[action]
No no, see. You're forcing it too much. Here... [He fetches a pencil and holds it. Of course, with only three fingers, it's not exactly how a regular person would do it.]
You want it to be between three fingers, so it's steady on all sides. Like this. Kind of.
[action]
[Sapphire copies the motion as best she can, fumbling the pencil a few times as she tries to figure out the amount of force needed to keep it in place.]
So strange...
[action]
[He reaches towards her hand and repositions her fingers, then guides it.]
See?
[action]
[After a moment of thought, she removes her gloves before picking up the pencil again, copying the grip.]
An' then ya just...
[The line she produces is shaky and a bit too dark, but comes more easily than before.]
[action]
That's good, just... smoother, yeah? Let it glide, nice and gentle like.
[action]
[A few more lines, then a lopsided "a".]
[action]
See? That's not so hard. You're already getting it.
[action]
but]
I still gotta figure out the writin' down part a' that.
[action]
[action]
[Give her a few seconds - when she shows you the paper, she's written out her name (still lopsided).]
Okay, so a "p" and an "h" make the sound of an "f" together, right? That's okay! But why's there another "p" in there? My name ain't "Sap-fire"...!
...It just doesn't make sense.
[action]
One thing about language you'll learn is... sometimes it doesn't make sense. And you just have to go with it. When I had to learn another language, it was pretty confusing. You just kind of have to memorize what it looks like. Do it enough times and it's like second nature.
[action]
[siiigh]
...hold on, ya know two?
[action]
[Let's not get into the mindscrew of what their speaking now.]
[action]
[...well, she hasn't had it explained to her yet. And, y'know, can't read the guide.]
