Drei - [Action/Voice]

[With his first week of school in Luceti over, Kurt has taken advantage of the day off to make something a little special. A pizza, in fact. It's for a special little friend he made, so given how ridiculous this is, he's done his best to make the pizza when Kitty wasn't at home to call him out for it. Once it's done, he'll be appearing (quite literally) at building 4, teleporting to the sixth floor to knock on the door of Maes Hughes. Hopefully your daughter warned you that she ordered a pizza for lunch.

After putting up with Brigade shenanigans and generally hanging around the plaza area, he'll even make a voice post. Crazy, innit? This is mostly in response to seeing a certain person claiming to be a demon. Something that... struck him rather odd.]

When you think of a demon, what exactly do they look like in your mind? And [a hesitant pause here] what would you do if you saw one like that?

[LATER after being bombarded with how cool demons are, Kurt says something over the journals that will elicit less freaky responses:]

School wasn't so bad here. I can't believe we actually get homework though. What happens if we fail?

[Oh hey, sup fellow Brigade dude. He recognizes you from the meetings, but being new, he doesn't have your name memorized yet.]

Well, why wouldn't they? They're supposed to be definably evil. In other worlds... apparently demon doesn't have the same meaning.

[~~And you're just more fodder for Haruki's grand Brigade plans~~ He totally knows your name since you're a newbie, but no actual conversation yet.] Yeah, that's why it's hard to pin down what a demon is; a lot of worlds have different descriptions for monsters, and even differentiate them from demons. Other places, they're one and the same.

Mine is fairly simple. They're evil, fallen angels. But... talking to other people, demons are apparently misunderstood. And not so bad. And... it's a little confusing. [And he can't help but think all of this is him being deceived.]

I don't know about that. It really depends on the world and the situation. I know that some demons can be nothing but malevolent, and some demons can have a conscience. They're all just grouped underneath the same basic definition, like "humans."

Yeah, I guess so. [This causes him to think, though. Something Haruki mentioned...] But you're not human, right?

Not in the technical sense, no. I'm a Fellpool, a race descended from cats. [...Obviously. Don't state the obvious, Leon.]

Cats... [Well, okay. He'll accept that.] I guess that makes sense.

Hey, are your around the Brigade headquarters still?

Yeah, I'm fixing up something inside. [His ears flick slightly as he wonders why Kurt's asking.]

[Alien boy genius, that's what Haruki said.]

I was wondering if you could look at something. You're good with technology, right?

Good is an understatement, but yes. [Not to brag too much, but he knows he's got an advantage over a lot of other people from less advanced times.] Drop by and I'll give it a look.

[Oh hey, he'll just teleport in with a sudden flash of light, right on the middle of the conference table. sup.]

Uh, I hate to ask, but I think I forgot your name.

[Leon puts down the small knife he'd been working with, perhaps a little harder than necessary, when he sees Kurt appear. Not having any sign where someone was going to appear was always kinda weird.]

It's Leon. And you're Kurt, right? What did you want me to look at?

[And it's kind of annoying too. Kurt hops off the table and then holds out his wrist, showing his watch. He takes a deep breath. This guy was an alien, so he wasn't going to be bothered by this. Just... keep it cool.]

It's this. It's a... well, it's what makes me look like this. [He turns to his side and holds up the back of his hair, showing a bare neck... with no barcode.] And why I have no mark. It's a holographic image inducer.

[And then he turns it off.]

[His appearance flickers, like a TV channel being changed, and suddenly he's blue. Three fingers on his hands, pointy ears, blue fur everywhere, a pointy tail, and legs arched back like a faun's. The reason for the demon question should become fairly obvious now.]

... so people don't see me like this.

[Obviously, Leon's attention is more on the device in front of him than on Kurt, but he raises a brow when Kurt shows the back of his neck-- and then the actual name of the device causes his ears to perk up.]

[And then Kurt turns the device off.

[It takes him a moment to completely take in Kurt's form, and he sniffs delicately.]

No wonder you smelled sorta different. ...I guess this explains your question about demons, huh?

[He blinks at the comment about smell... but, well, it doesn't bother him. There's been plenty of times Logan has been able to sniff him out for smelling different.]

Yeah, I guess it does. I've been called one enough times to be... familiar with the word.

I think you'll be surprised by how accepting people are around Luceti, if you're worried about that. [Even though he says that, he shakes his head.] But there's a reason you've got this image inducer.

Accepting maybe. But... that doesn't always mean they'll think of me as the same. [And it's awkward asking this from Leon, but at least he looks mostly human. Kurt doesn't even have that going for him.] At home, it was the only way I could even go anywhere. Letting people see me like this isn't easy.

[Leon sighs, though he's a little nervous. He can sense this is an entirely hush-hush thing.] ...Yeah, I kinda figured. It'd be hard to shake off comparisons to people's first impressions of you.

[He taps his chin, looking at Kurt and then the "watch."] But why'd you show your real self to me? Are you expecting something to happen to your image inducer?

It could, yeah. It's... pretty sensitive equipment. Just bumping it into the wall can sometimes put it on the fritz. The Professor used to have to fix it for me when it did that.

[And he pauses a moment, because the next request is kind of silly, but...] It also has limited features. I only have six different settings for clothing. If something was to come up and Haruki needed me in some uniform or something... [The problem with that should become obvious. The moment he puts the uniform in, it would 'disappear' underneath the holographic image.]

H-- hah... The uniforms, right. [The boy looks slightly pained at the thought. It's getting to be the festive time of the year, too.] I can see how that would become a problem.

[He looks at the device again.] I'll have to look at how the creator inputted the different clothes settings. It'd be pretty fascinating if all of those options were added directly into the image inducer without use of a computer...

[Kurt pulls off his watch so Leon can look at it closer.]

I think the Professor uses a computer, but I've been able to make some small changes on the watch without one. Of course, when I did it, I didn't know how to fix it, so... it was pretty useless until the professor fixed it. [And gave Kurt the body of a female girl as a 'punishment' for meddling with it.]

[Leon takes the watch carefully, running a finger around the face before clicking on the buttons.] Hmm... When you were making changes to the watch, did you need any tools? Or were you pressing random buttons here?
