[Kurt was on his way home from today's Brigade meeting, when he decided to opt for the shortcut home, teleporting to the top of building seven, appearing on the edge in a crouched position. or at least, that was the plan, until a surprised flaming mutant turkey suddenly lunged at him from nowhere.

This is surprising enough that he slips and falls off the building. Fortunately he quickly teleports the rest of the distance to the ground, landing with a thud on his back and his journal slipping out of his grip and opening up. For a moment, he stares up in shock at whatever that was until a moment later, it jumps down AFTER HIM and leans over him, inspecting the strange disappearing human.]

H-hey! Nice turkey! Trust me, you don't want to eat me, the fuzzy one doesn't taste so good, yeah?

[Anyone's free to see the events above unfold, or just find him afterward hanging out with the strange turkey outside of Building 7 until (or even after) Sapphire shows up to reclaim her Pokemon.]

Okay, next on the chopping block - anchovies. They're really not that bad, are they? I know most people think they're gross but I like them.

Anchovies... not my favorite, but not bad. They can stay. [Grudgingly.]

Well, it's not really sour cream. It's crème fraîche. More like... butter, right?

Whatever it is, it still sounds gross on pizza.

Ew, yeah, it smells like Lance's old gym socks. No, pick something we don't agree on. How about the pineapple?

The pineapples are fine. It could even be good on pizza. [He has to think about this. Something she likes and he doesn't... Maybe the special sauce could be a little less special?] Nothing else comes to mind.

[Aw, c'mon, you have to love the specialness. It's her own secret recipe composed of...a dash of every single spice in the spice cabinet at the time. It adds lots of flavor!]

All right, but if you get the urge to put anything funky on it, just do half, okay? Maybe that's a better way.

Yeah, likewise. [He checks the sauce, By now it's thick enough for them to use.]

[She leans against the counter again, watching him do whatever with the sauce. A moment of quiet passes between them before she speaks again.]

Hey, Kurt?

[He'd been a little involved in what he was doing at the time, but the break in the silence was a welcome one. He looks up from what he's doing, setting it aside for the moment.]

Yeah?

I'm really glad you're here. I'd probably still be stuck in freakout mode if you weren't.

Yeah, I'm glad you're here too. After being here a week, I though I'd never see you or any of the others for a long time.

Yeah. Hopefully it won't be that long, but I've heard some people say they've been here almost two years.

Well, we have no way of knowing. So... we just have to be ready to go back any day, that's all.

And try to make the most of however long we're here. It really hasn't been as bad as some people make it out to be. [Except for some scary things she's heard over the journals.]

And most people don't seem to care we're mutants, either. [And he hasn't had a bad experience those few times people have seen him like this...]

I told you. See? Everything's going to be okay. [Just keep saying that, Kitty. Over and over and over again.]

[He nods.] Of course. We're X-Men. You want to get stuck somewhere bad? You try being in that... wherever that I teleport through. [Luceti is infinitely preferable to that.]

[She laughs.] I'll take your word for it.

[She'd rather not know what that place is like firsthand.]
