[Kurt was on his way home from today's Brigade meeting, when he decided to opt for the shortcut home, teleporting to the top of building seven, appearing on the edge in a crouched position. or at least, that was the plan, until a surprised flaming mutant turkey suddenly lunged at him from nowhere.

This is surprising enough that he slips and falls off the building. Fortunately he quickly teleports the rest of the distance to the ground, landing with a thud on his back and his journal slipping out of his grip and opening up. For a moment, he stares up in shock at whatever that was until a moment later, it jumps down AFTER HIM and leans over him, inspecting the strange disappearing human.]

H-hey! Nice turkey! Trust me, you don't want to eat me, the fuzzy one doesn't taste so good, yeah?

[Anyone's free to see the events above unfold, or just find him afterward hanging out with the strange turkey outside of Building 7 until (or even after) Sapphire shows up to reclaim her Pokemon.]

Toro's a Blaziken - the last evolution of Torchic, a rare Hoenn Pokemon! Her types are Fire an' Fighting, an' she's a master of speed!

Fire and fighting, yeah? So that means... you have to watch out for water, ground, and psychic types, yeah?

...Even then, we've trained ta counter some of those attacks! A good trainer can adapt ta any situation!

That's very important for any team. You should always know how to cover your team mate's weaknesses too.

That's one way ta do it! Ta take on any opponent - a fast Pokemon that dodges attacks, a sturdy Pokemon with powerful attacks, an' a tank of a Pokemon that can last out the battle! The three basic types that can make a full team!

[Toro huffs quietly, shaking her head as though chuckling.]

[... weird chicken. Kurt gives it a look, but then nods at Sapphire.]

[Toro doesn't waste an instant, instantly launching a kick at the side of Sapphire's head - she ducks, grinning, and leaps back. The Blaziken rushes forward to follow with a flurry of punches, which are dodged in the same way...

The two spar for about twenty seconds, Toro launching lightning-fast blows which are evaded or parried by her trainer. When they stop, they each take a step back, battle stances relaxing.]

[That was more than he was expecting. He was a little worried Sapphire was going to get hurt there, but she seemed to know what she was doing. After things finally die down, he speaks up.]
