[Although Kurt arrived early in the day, walking around the village was not an option. So he was left with little choice but to wait around until evening, listening in on the journals for clues as to what happened to him. Clearly he wasn't the only recent arrival and he learned quite a big from his fellow New Feathers having the situation explained to them. So, in the dead of night, Kurt finally enters the village, teleporting from one room to another. His first stop is the clothing store. After finding some discreet, normal outfit (opting to come back for his X-Men uniform later), he leaves and goes to the item store to find his holo watch. If anyone happens to run into him during the dead of night, they'll find that he's keeping to the shadows and has himself covered in a robe. He'll talk if he's found, at least at first. But he's not keen to reveal himself and will teleport away immediately.

The next morning, though, Kurt will be walking around town in the appearance of a normal human kid, exploring the various parts of the towns, mostly the shops and Welcome Center. Later, he even makes a voice post, sounding just a bit timid as he does so.]

Hello everyone, my name is Kurt. I ah, arrived yesterday. I was wondering if any of my friends were already here? [Seemed reasonable to ask... so many other people arrived to people who already knew them.]

[Kurt keeps from backing away. It's only a shoulder, so there's nothing to give away here. Still, coming from a stranger, it's awkward. He puts on a smile.]

I'll be fine! There's no shortage of places to live here.

That's the truth. Plenty of food, it looks like, too.

Yeah, so no need to worry at all. [So you can let go now.]

Hah, it's nothing. [Space issues, that's all.]

[If there's one thing he's good at, it's empathizing. He'd return the gesture to her, but his three fingers would be all too obvious.]

I'm sorry. What happened?

We were in a battle. Some of us... didn't make it.

[He doesn't know that!]

It's not easy to lose someone like that... [It's rather obvious he's talking from experience. Recent, at that.]

I didn't have time to think about it. There were still things we had to do.

One of your friends?

[He shakes his head.]

It's complicated.

I see.

It was nice talking to you, Kurt. Maybe we'll run into each other again sometime.
